Thomas Walker Returns to Coach Jets in 2010

ThomasWalkerAn MHSAA rule regarding independent teams has prevented NEMCABB Secretary Buddy Hall from coaching the Tallahatchie River Rascals in the MSB Fall League.  Hall has been replaced by long-time summer coach and 2009 MS Select 15U coach Thomas Walker of Tupelo.

Coach Walker is a product of Iuka High School where he was active in the school sports program of the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. He graduated in 1982 and was also active in the Iuka Dixie Youth program through the 1970’s.  Thomas has coached competitively for the last 15 years, and his Tupelo Wildcats team won the USSSA State Tournament in 2000. He was part of the Tupelo Ranger Competitive Baseball Program and has coached high school and college standouts such as Channing Walker (THS, ICC), Gardner Richey (THS, Samford), Chris Stratton (THS, Mississippi State), Kyle Thornton (THS, University of Mississippi), Evan Weibel (THS, ICC), Nathan Flanagan (THS, ICC), Joseph Koon (THS, ICC) and Lex Rutledge (THS, Samford).  Coach Walker was also a part of the on-air Tupelo Golden Wave radio broadcast team from 2005-2009.
Thomas is married to Dana Walker and they have two children: son Channing is a junior at BMC and a member of the 2008-2009 State Champions ICC Indians and son Caleb is a junior at Tupelo High School and a member of the Tupelo High School Golden Wave and the 2008-2009 State Champions Golden Wave Swim Team.
