Andy Dillard Returns To Generals For Fall League

AndyAndy Dillard will return as the coach of the Hill Country Generals in the 2010 MSB Fall League after a successful stint as the Tribe coach in the July League.   The Saltillo native, who also coached in the inaugural Mississippi Select Fall League in 2009 and the CSBL in 2010, is a former independent league third baseman who won NCAA Division II All-American honors in 2002 for Coach Mike Kinnison's Delta State Statesmen. Dillard prepped at Saltillo High School and continued his baseball career at Itawamba Community College before joining the Statesmen.  Dillard played for the independent league Nashua Pride in 2006 and 2007.  With the Pride in 2006, he hit .283/.375/.398 in 78 games.  Andy is the brother of major leaguer Milwaukee Brewer Tim Dillard (currently with the AAA Nashville Sounds) and former independent leaguer Jeff Dillard.  Andy's father, Steve Dillard, was an 8-year major-leaguer himself with the Tigers, Cubs and White Sox.
